Dr. Pritom Borthakur is a highly experienced Senior Consultant in Medicine with decades of clinical practice in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of medical conditions. Known for his methodical clinical approach, clear communication, and commitment to patient care, he has served in leading healthcare institutions in Guwahati for more than two decades.

He completed his MBBS and MD from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, and subsequently underwent short-term training in Echocardiography at PGIMER, Chandigarh, in 1998.

Dr. Borthakur served as Consultant of Medicine and Physician In-Charge of the ICU at Down Town Hospital from 1998 to 2004. He has also been associated with Nemcare Hospital as a Senior Consultant of Medicine for over 20 years and serves as a Consultant at Arogyam Multispecialty Health Clinic.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Borthakur has contributed to postgraduate medical education as an NBE Accredited Postgraduate Teacher of Medicine for DNB Courses, reflecting his longstanding involvement in training and mentoring future physicians.

He is a Fellow of the Indian College of Physicians and a Life Member of several professional organisations, including the Cardiological Society of India, Association of Physicians of India, Indian Academy of Echocardiography, and Indian Medical Association.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Borthakur has a deep interest in science communication, nature, and conservation. He is the Founder President of VIGYAN AALAAP, a society dedicated to science popularisation, and is also a popular science writer and public speaker. His commitment to environmental causes includes life membership in AARANYAK, an organisation working in wildlife conservation, and Save Bharalu Abhiyan, an initiative dedicated to protecting the Bharalu River.
